Grey Mullet (Bouri) is one of the most important food and aquaculture fish in Egypt, found along both the Mediterranean and Red Sea coasts and in brackish lagoons and the Nile delta. Schools graze on algae and detritus in shallow water; a classic light-tackle and net target, and a staple of Egyptian fish markets.
