Rapala Loop Knot
MediumLoops · Line strength ~85%
A fixed loop in front of the lure: plugs, jerkbaits and jigs swim free and natural — noticeably more bites than with a tight knot.
When to use it
- ·Plugs & jerkbaits (free action)
- ·Stickbaits when popping
- ·Jigs that should flutter naturally
Step by step
- 1Tie an overhand knot in the line about 15 cm from the end
- 2Pass the tag end through the lure eye and back through the overhand knot
- 3Wrap the tag end around the standing line 3 times
- 4Pass the tag end through the overhand knot again
- 5Bring it back through the loop you just formed
- 6Wet and tighten carefully — the loop stays open
Pro tip
Keep the loop small (5–8 mm) — big loops foul on the treble hook.
